Changes for New Hope is a 100% Donor Supported Project
Corporations, Business Owners, We need you!
One of the biggest issues in today’s business world is Corporate Social Responsibility, with companies focused on how they can support charities whilst also maximizing benefits for their business. Below are some ideas on how your company can help Changes for New Hope raise funds and boost its public image!
Charitable corporate event
Organize a charitable corporate event! Treat your staff and customers to a memorable social occasion whilst raising much needed funds for the charity. Whether it’s a black tie dinner or a workplace sporting competition, there’s something out there for everyone to enjoy.
Payroll Giving
Implement a payroll giving scheme deducting a small amount from the pay of your employees and choose Changes for New Hope as a charity to which you wish to allocate your donations. Payroll giving is usually set-up with a government agency and is known to be one of the most-tax efficient ways to donate.
Cause Marketing
Donate a percentage of your sales to Changes for New Hope! Enhanced public image, boosted staff morale and increased sales and productivity can all be achieved from a meaningful and well managed corporate-charity partnership. Your business may introduce various creative, interesting and lucrative promotions, part the proceeds of which would go to Changes for New Hope.
Jeans Friday for Charity
Many businesses allow their employees to wear jeans on Fridays, but only if they donate to a charity. Pick Changes for New Hope as a charity you support and spread the word among your colleagues! Oftentimes the business will match employee donations.
Gifts in kind
Giving a gift-in-kind is an easy way for your company to help us to reduce costs and spend more money on children. We are always particularly grateful for donations of products and services which can be used as prizes for raffles and auctions at our fundraising events.
Whether you have been a supporter, sponsor, donor or compassionate friend, we appreciate every person, company and organization that has helped Changes for New Hope become a success in advancing the lives of impoverished children here in Peru.
Our Supporters and Sponsors
May 2016, Living in Peru, a national e-magazine in Peru, named Changes for New Hope their choice as NGO of the Month. We are very grateful for this honor and the excellent interview with the project's founder Jim Killon by reporter Alex Mann.

Vitamin Angels Partners with Changes for New Hope
One of the most challenging issues that Changes for New Hope has dealt with has been the issue of anemia and malnutrition. A grant approved by Vitamin Angels, a humanitarian organization in California U.S., has provided us with the ability to reach several thousand children under the age of 5 and 473 pregnant or nursing mothers. Anti-parasite medicine is also being provided because over 95% of the children have tested positive for parasitic worms.
President at Air Canada Helps Changes for New Hope
What do you do when there are several suitcases of much needed materials waiting for you in Canada that are needed in the Peruvian Andes? If you are me, you fly up to Toronto and visit with your compassionate friends and bring them back. Sounds simple enough, right? Maybe, but there was an obstacle beyond our control.
Most airlines do not allow excess baggage beyond certain allowances and charge a hefty fee for any overage that is allowed. Rules are rules, eh?
Our friend Richard in Toronto contacted the president of Air Canada and his staff to ask the seemingly impossible. Allow humanitarian aid and related materials in excess of normal regulations to be carried by Air Canada to Lima Peru, for free.
Sometimes it isn't all about making money and permission was granted to allow Changes for New Hope's materials aboard. Free. Cases weighing 20% more than I did were loaded and enroute to our locations here in Huaraz. Nutritional supplements which we use to combat malnutrition, clothing articles, school materials and supplies, games and recreational equipment, books and much more arrived safely to the children who were excited to receive them and also to have me back with them.
We deeply appreciate the exception made for us. I want to share that, in a world where hard lines are drawn to maximize profits in a tough corporate arena, a simple compassionate gesture by the president of this airline resulted in over 100 children, currently living in impoverished conditions, to receive materials necessary to be comfortable, happier and healthier a little longer.
We can all be heroes.
Siempre,
Jim Killon
